# Square text emoji generator for Slack

Turn short phrases like "yes", "nope" or "hell yeah" into square, legible Slack emoji. Auto-wraps onto multiple lines and ships a range of ready-made styles.

## How it works

This tool runs entirely in your browser using canvas compiled to
WebAssembly (or the Canvas API, where listed). Your file is never uploaded — it is
read into memory, processed locally, and offered back to you as a download.

## Using it

1. Open https://gif.statico.io/text-emoji/
2. Enter your text and pick a style.
3. Adjust the settings. "hell yeah" as a square, readable 128px emoji.
4. Set the filename and download. Names are slugified so the result can be
   uploaded straight to Slack as a custom emoji.

Results are also saved to a per-browser history at https://gif.statico.io/history/.
